Courses
I am happy to offer a range of green woodworking classes. As time goes on, I hope to expand the selection of classes available. You will learn how to use a variety of traditional hand tools, including axes, froes, knives and saws.
Most people find that spoon carving gets under their skin and leaves them saying, “I know I can do better on my next one!” Once you have learned the basic skills and gathered a few simple tools, the possibilities are endless.
Carving is a lovely way to pass the time. You can while away hours happily lost in concentration by the fire, giving your mind some much-needed clarity and a break from day-to-day life without having to sit on a meditation mat.
Spoons also make lovely gifts. Your family and friends won’t know what’s hit them. Before long, it’ll be spoons for birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas.
Come and join me for an afternoon of carving, whether you have never picked up a knife or already have some experience and would like to improve your skills.
All classes are taught in my heated home workshop in Blewett, just outside Nelson, BC. All tools and materials are provided, along with tea and coffee.
